Our course on the Consequences of AI continued on 14 April 2026 with an in depth look at how the introduction of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has changed how organisations are doing their Sales and Marketing.
The session started with the key concepts in Sales and Marketing and the idea of the Sales Funnel. There was ample opportunity for those with some experience of marketing and selling to add their own thoughts and ideas as to what works and what does not.
Sales and Marketing people are famous for their use of abbreviations and acronyms, and part of the session was devoted to explaining what these meant. These caused some humour in the session, especially as there was no test at the end. There were detailed examples of how a sales lead system can automatically generate contact information and open a conversation with a potential customer, even while the originator of the conversation is fast asleep in their bed.
The importance of the personal contact still came through, even in the time of AI.

Our next session will be on Tuesday 12 May 2026 at 2:00pm and will be the final session in this course. It will examine the likelihood that government and democracy can survive and thrive in a time of Artificial Intelligence.
