Our group of Creative Writers met on Wednesday 15 October 2025 with their recent compositions on a variety of subjects set at the previous meeting. Perhaps it is the time of year, but there was much looking forward to the future and to holidays and trips hither and yon.

We had advice on how to best use the time whilst waiting for transport, and we had the experiences of two young women who had failed to catch the return coach after their day trip to Paris – needless to say Les Gendarmes came to their assistance. We had a story on leaf clearing in the garden and the robins that are eagerly waiting for the fallen leaves to be disturbed so that they can snatch the invertebrates.

We then had an interesting story about how an invitee can get the wrong end of the stick when receiving a cryptic invitation to a New Year’s Eve party, and turning up dressed differently from everyone else! That was followed by a cautionary tale of going on holiday with a complainer which led to the conclusion that you only know someone when you have gone on holiday with them.

Lastly we had a story about how one of members had had a fascination with boats and sailing, and how he had converted the fascination into a series of holidays for the family.

Our next meeting will be on 05 November 2025, when a series of subjects will include “Remember! Remember!”
